Monday, Ian and I leave for a 5-night cruise to New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. It’s on one of the Carnival cruise ships and
leaves from Manhattan, so we don’t have to fly anywhere to get to the
ship. I’ve been looking to get away for
the last few weeks. We’re still very
much in the honeymoon phase of our marriage, but because of all the stuff we
have going on in our lives, sometimes it doesn’t feel like it.
T.J.
will be spending the week we’re away with his best friend in New Jersey and
Buster will be going with him; no kennel for the pooch! I’ll dive them there next Sunday so Ian and I
will be able to lock up the house without a worry when we go.
I’ve
never cruised before, so I don’t know what to expect beyond what I read about
on the Carnival web site. There will be
shows in the theater, plenty of places to eat, a gym to work off those food
calories, a spa, night clubs and, of course, the pools. And even though this will be a “family”
cruise, hopefully there won’t be too many obnoxious children running around.
The pictures are off several websites and have given me a
good idea of what to expect.
Because this is a family cruise we’re going on, Ian and I have to be a little more conservative in our behavior since it’s summer and kids are off from school. I guess that means no public displays of affection like kissing by the pool. But I’m not going to worry too much about it. I just want to get away for a little while and have some fun.
