Back On Broadway

Last night, Ian and I were at the Cort Theater to watch Daniel Radcliffe in The Cripple of Inishmaan. It was a fantastic performance!  We were six rows from the stage in the center orchestra and the eighth and ninth seats.  We had a fantastic view!  The story itself was funny and sad and poignant and the cast was marvelous! It was a more enjoyable experience than the last play we saw last October, No Man's Land with Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen.
Daniel Radcliffe and Sarah Greene in Act One of The Cripple of Inishmaan.
After the play, we went out for a late dinner then decided to head out to Rockaway to watch the sun rise.  That's when Ian got this wicked twinkle in his eyes and disappeared into one of those tacky 24-hour souvenir stores all over the theater district.  When he came out, he would not tell me what he just bought.   All the way on the drive to Rockaway, Ian was more tight-lipped than I have ever seen him.  Once we got to the beach however, rather than just sit there the boardwalk and fall asleep, Ian took two beach towels out of the souvenir bag and headed down to the sand.  Once on the sand, he spread out the blankets, stripped naked and ran into the surf.  Of course I could not let him have all the fun so I stripped too and followed him into the water.  We were only in the water a few minutes before it got too cold.  We dried off as best we could, put our boxers back on then sat of the beach towels and just watched the stars and the surf.   We stayed there for over an hour just sitting and stargazing until we decided to head home.  We gathered our clothes and the towels, headed back to the car and drove home in our underwear.  Back home, we showered together to rid ourselves of all the salt and sand before headed to bed.
