We
took a cab to the pier early Monday afternoon and the ride took about an hour;
plenty of time to wind our way through the serpentine line to security and then
on to another line that got us through check-in and boarding.
Once
onboard, we went to our cabin, changed into our swim trunks, tee-shirts and
flip-flops and headed up to the pool deck to start having fun! While it was a bit early to have a drink, we
decided to make an exception and ordered an umbrella drink from the Red Parrot
Bar. Man, was that one sweet and potent
slushy! The pool area by the bar and
hamburger grill was mostly for people with kids so Ian and I searched for the
adult-only pool and found it tucked in the rear of the ship near yet another
bar! (I got the impression that Carnival
wanted its guests to really have a good
time!) Ian and I took our drinks,
slipped off our tee-shirts and flip-flops, and eased ourselves into the hot
tub!
A
little while later, once we were sufficiently water-logged, we got a couple of
tacos and watched as the Glory sailed
out of New York Harbor. I felt all our
stress just drifting away the further from the city we got.
Dinner
found us at the Platinum Dining Room at a table with two other couples, both
straight. Tom and Marie were newlyweds
on their honeymoon and Jack and Susan were a middle-aged couple whose two sons
were just out of college. The food was
excellent but the portions were on the small side so about an hour and a half
after dinner, Ian and I went up to Deck 9 and got some more tasty things to eat
from the buffet. After our second
“dinner” we went down to the ship’s theater and played some trivia games and
bingo. About 10p.m. we went up to the
nightclub, but we only stayed about 20 minutes; I wasn’t really all that
impressed. Later that night, Ian and I
went to a GLBT mixer. I don’t know what
I expected, but it was fairly lame – only about a dozen people, including me
and Ian. Everyone there was in a couple
already and not really interested in hooking up, which was a good thing, since
neither Ian nor I wanted to anyway. A
little after midnight we headed back to our cabin for the night.
Tuesday
was a full day at sea. We got up late
and after we fucked a little, Ian and I spent the rest of the morning catching
rays and fooling around in the pool.
Around lunchtime, we headed for the burgers and tacos. It was about that time there was a hilarious
“hairy chest contest”! There were about
seven contestants and only one was even moderately in shape. The first contestant was this wrinkly old
dude and when I say old, I mean like in his 80s old. The rest were younger; mostly in their
forties. If they had been in shape they
may have been decent-looking daddies, but as it was they were mostly overweight. The winner was downright obese. He must have been 400 pounds! Now I know there are guys out there that like
that, but not me! I’m not casting any
aspersions on this guy, for all I know he might have a medical condition like a
tumor or something. Anyway, it was kind
of fun to watch and laugh at their antics.
Afterward, Ian and I went back to the pool for a few more hours in the
sun.
Wednesday
found us in the port of St John in New Brunswick. After breakfast, Ian and I went on the first
of the excursion tours we booked ahead of time.
This one was to the Bay of Fundy and the village of St. Martins. What beautiful places! Quaint and picturesque!
Although we were somewhat rushed for time,
Ian and I managed to get a few nice pictures.
Then it was back on the bus for the hour-long ride back to the
boat. We left port shortly after 4 p.m.
and since dinner wasn’t until 6, we decided to take a little break from the fun
aboard the ship and make a little of our own, if you know what I mean! After dinner we went back to our cabin, changed
and went back up to the pool! We languished
by the pool until it was fairly dark then went back to our cabin, took turns
showering (the shower was much too small for the two of us), changed into party
clothes and tried the nightclub again.
This time it wasn’t so terrible; I actually had a lot of fun! By 1 a.m. Ian dragged my ass back to our
cabin for the rest of the night. We got
undressed and went to bed with nothing more than a good-night kiss to tide us
over until morning.
The
sun woke Ian up much too early and if it wasn’t for his talented tongue on my
dick, I would have happily slept until noon and missed our morning excursion –
whale watching in Halifax Bay. It was a
nice, relaxing three-hour boat ride and our tour guide was quite informative
although we didn’t actually see any whales.
We did, however, get to play with a real lobster!
After we returned to the Carnival Glory, we had just enough time for lunch before heading out again for our third and final excursion – a bus tour of Halifax and a trip to the village of Peggy’s Cove; year-round population: 30 people! The tiny fishing village was like something off a postcard and off in the distance was the famous lighthouse! The area around the lighthouse was massive fields of stone. The entire area was quite peaceful and calming. We did a little shopping in the gift store, bought a few tee-shirts and a couple of books about the area, then headed back to the bus for the ride back to the ship. We took a different route than the one we took to get to Peggy’s Cove. We eventually passed the cemeteries were about 120 of the victims of the Titanic were laid to rest and we passed both the oldest and smallest Canadian government building and the Royal Residence before pulling up to the pier and getting back to the ship.

Friday
was a day at sea but the weather was a bit on the cold and damp side as we were
heading into the storm system that had been raining from Washington DC to Boston!
After breakfast, Ian and I wandered around
the ship a little, taking more pictures, we even managed to find a secluded corner
on one of the upper decks were I took a few hasty pictures of Ian with his shorts
down around his ankles! (I will definitely
not
be posting those.) After lunch, we did a
load of laundry, then spent much of the afternoon repacking most of our clothes
and souvenirs. We visited the casino, won about $40 then went to dinner. Afterward, we went up on deck, sat in silence and
watched the waves for a while then decided to watch the Dive-In Movie – “Lincoln”
with Daniel Day-Lewis and Sally Field. It’s
a good thing we had seen it before because the sound quality was a little off. After the movie, we got a snack, headed for our
cabin, fucked a little, well, a lot actually, and eventually fell asleep.
The
ship docked by 7:30 and by 10:15 we were off the ship and in a cab heading home.
