Harbor Lights Cruise

Yesterday Ian and I and several of our friends took a concert cruise around the tip of Manhattan.  We got to Pier 83 around 7:30 p.m. and boarded fairly quickly.  The bar was already open when we boarded and we got ourselves some drinks.  The party was well under way by the time the ship left port a little after 8.  The music was decent, nothing special to write about, but it was the company that made the night special.
It was a bit cold, so after about a half hour, the six of us went below and stayed there the rest of the evening watching the city slide by as we enjoyed the music and the party.  It was fun to watch some of the other people on the boat – an older couple sitting off by themselves holding hands, some of the younger guys getting stupid drunk and really happy, a pair of party girls falling all over the guys they came with, some others trying to line-dance as the ship bobbed and swayed.
It was only a little before 11 by the time the ship returned to its dock so the six of us decided to go into the Village and check out a bar or two.  By the time Ian and I got home it was nearly 4 in the morning.  (Good thing we didn’t need to go to work today!)  Once home, we went straight upstairs to our bedroom, got undressed, showered and went to bed.  I fell asleep with Ian spooning me and holding me in his strong arms.
